- Tottenham Hotspur vs. Manchester City
TV – Saturday September 26th – 7:45 am EST on NBCSN
Both teams will be looking for the three points this weekend after not the best results over the last couple of days. Manchester City suffered their first defeat in the league. After a blistering start, the blue side of Manchester has lost two of their last three games. They did rebound in the midweek by pummeling Sunderland 4-1 in the Capitol One Cup. Kompany should return to the lineup, but that is just the start of Pellegrini’s problems as Bony, Mangala, and Silva are all sidelined. Tottenham suffered a defeat this week after winning three straight. While it is only the Capitol One Cup, it was to their most hated rival, Arsenal. How will they respond this weekend? Christian Eriksen should be back after playing against Arsenal. This means Min will push out to the wing. It should be a great match and will give us a good picture of where Tottenham stand in the EPL.
My Pick – Tottenham 1 – Manchester City 3. City gets rolling again with goals from De Bruyne, Aguero, and Kolarov, meanwhile Harry Kane will finally get his first goal.
James’ Pick – Tottenham 1 – Manchester City 3. Goals from Aguero, De Bruyne (2) and Harry Kane.
- Bordeaux vs. Lyon
TV – Saturday September 26th – 2:00 pm EST on beIN Sports Connect
Lyon come into the game on a slightly better run of form, as they are unbeaten in five games but have only won 2 of those games. Their last game was their first home win of the season. They have been slightly disappointing this season and they will hope that win can turn around the season. Bordeaux is reeling after a 6-1 loss to Nice. Lyon has won their last three trips to Bordeaux by outscoring them 11-1. With Champions League returning next week, look for Valbuena to start on the bench with a calf injury.
My Pick – Bordeaux 1 – Lyon 2. Lyon will make it two wins in a row as Beauvue and Lacazette give them all three points. Saivet will get a consolation goal for Bordeaux.
James’ Pick –
- Real Sociedad vs. Athletic Bilbao
TV – Sunday September 27th – 2:30 pm EST on beIN Sports Connect
The Basque Derby, or in Basque Euskal Derbia, takes place this weekend. This is one of the most prominent rivalries in all of Spain as Real Sociedad host Athletic Bilbao. This derby dates back to 1909. While it has not been played every year due to Real Sociedad being relegated, it is one of the oldest in Spain. Athletic has not won this derby since 2012 and has not won in Donostia (San Sebastian) since 2011. Sociedad come into the game with a good win over Granada by the scoreline of 3-0. Athletic Club come in following their defeat to Real Madrid 2-1. Ernesto Valverde will hope to get a win and his side back on track. David Moyes will look to keep the pressure off of him after winning their first game of the year this week.
My Pick – Real Sociedad 2, Athletic Club 2. The Basque teams will share the points. Goals from Vela and Canales for Sociedad and an Aduriz brace for Bilbao.

- Napoli vs. Juventus
TV – Saturday September 26th – 2:45 pm EST on beIN Sports USA
Both of these teams have had miserable starts this year and they both sit in the bottom half of the table. Juventus followed up their first win of the season with a midweek draw at home against Frosinone. This game should have been a Champions League places show down, but instead will be a battle between 12th and 13th. With that being said, there will be a lot of attacking talent on the field and two so-so defenses. Juventus went from a staunch defense to one that has kept just one clean sheet. Look for Jose Callejon to get another chance in the starting XI. Jorginho is also a pick to play over Valdifiori in the middle of the park. For Juventus, Pogba will have to dictate the play as the best player on the floor. Look for Morata and Dybala to start up front together.
My Pick – Napoli 2 – Juventus 1. Juventus have been missing their cutting edge and this will hurt them again. Goals from Higuain, Insigne, and Morata.
James’ Pick –
- Inter vs. Fiorentina
TV – Sunday September 27th – 2:45 pm EST on beIN Sports USA
Inter Milan is the hottest team in all of Italy. They have won all five games by a one-goal margin. This is the top of the table clash this weekend as Inter are on top with Fiorentina just 3 points back in second place. La Viola will hope to get the points and move to the top of the table. This will be a very defensive game, as these teams have the best defensive records in the league. It is the first big test for Roberto Mancini this season. Paulo Sousa seems to have his team ready for this battle and ready to challenge for a spot in the Champions League. Look for this to be a great tactical battle and probably end in a draw.
My Pick – Inter 1 Fiorentina 1. Goals from Jovetic and Kalinic.
